Community Development

Sustainable development begins at community level. FLAG facilitates participatory local planning processes and supports grass-roots organisations to drive their own development agendas, working alongside municipalities rather than waiting for them.

Our track record

FLAG has been assisting community development in Albania for much of the past two decades. A major contribution was made through assisting nine municipalities and four communes design and develop strategic plans through the projects Developing Enterprises Locally Through Action and Alliance (DELTA), Develop Strategic Plans for three communes in Dibër Qark, and Core Development Dibër, which assisted four municipalities (Bulqizë, Burrel, Klos and Peshkopi) and Kastriot Commune develop new community development plans, while integrating these into the overall plan for the county.
